Programme Details

Directed by experienced and highly trained leaders, our AISL Aspirational Leaders Day Summer Camp in Shanghai is crammed with fun and exciting activities devised to motivate and inspire students. The camp combines Sports, STEAM and Leadership sessions providing an all-round experience for students that want to keep busy, make new friends and create life-long memories.

Shanghai is the 3rd largest city in the world, and the campus reflects the city’s charm, modern trendiness and futuristic outlook making it a top destination! Set in the northern part of Pudong, amidst the many and diverse facilities of the Waigaoqiao district, AISL Harrow Shanghai benefits from the very best educational, purpose-built facilities.

The campus has been specifically designed to ensure that students are pushed out of their comfort zone, and are challenged in a supportive environment helping them become stronger people. With impressive sporting facilities, students will be able to make use of the indoor sports hall with it’s many courts, outdoor football pitches, badminton and basketball courts.

Sports - Change the Game

During the three-week Camp, students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports, including basketball, badminton, ultimate frisbee, football, and golf. The training sessions are designed in collaboration with leading sports organizations such as AC Milan, PGA of America, and Five-Star Basketball Academy, focusing on developing skills, teamwork, and a passion for the game. Students will be grouped according to their age and skill level, with individual and team training sessions tailored to improve their strategic thinking, tactics, and technical abilities.

In the basketball sessions, students will learn how to be dynamic players who are explosive, unpredictable, and powerful, able to change the game when they step onto the court. They will be taught to adapt their game to any situation, react to changing circumstances, and devise new strategies to outsmart the opposition. The training will also cover seamless transitions between offense and defense, enabling students to excel in all positions. By improving their dribbling, shooting, and passing skills, students will become well-rounded players who can contribute to any team they join.

STEAM - Think Outside the Box

Our Summer Camp will offer a dynamic STEAM programme that takes advantage of the superb facilities on offer, with sessions designed to inspire and challenge our young scientists of the future. Students will be expected to brainstorm innovative ideas, explore new skills, use their imagination and creativity while working towards a goal. Whether it's computer programming and coding, science or robotics, the various themes will engage and excite our students.

Real scientists understand that science isn't just about following a formula that leads to the right answer. They must be able to think outside the box, combining creativity, critical thinking and resilience to tackle challenges and advance research. From designing ways for humans to live on the moon to exploring the vacuum of space, these challenges require dynamic, creative scientists to dream up brand new solutions. Our STEAM programme will equip students with the tools and mindset they need to approach scientific challenges with creativity and ingenuity.

Leadership - Motivate & Inspire

Our Summer Camp, in collaboration with Stanford University professor Colin Ong’s Youth Creativity, Innovation and Sustainable Leadership programme, aims to cultivate creative energy exploration and foster EQ-enriched leadership mindsets in students. Through fast-thinking creativity exercises, students will develop this important skill as a personal strength while also focusing on problem-solving and generating new and innovative ideas. Additionally, they will learn about the mechanics of building effective teams and encouraging teamwork.

These leadership skills will be further honed through a reflection of oneself and an understanding that there is no one leadership style that works for everyone. Good leaders are adaptable to fit any situation or team dynamic, and students will learn how to switch between different styles and apply them to various situations to achieve the needs of their team members and their own goals. With these skills, students will be prepared for a constantly changing world that rewards those who can motivate and inspire across any situation.

Dynamic Leaders know that learning is a never-ending journey, and we hope that this week-long adventure will inspire students to continue their pursuit of knowledge and growth. By exploring new talents and passions, students will develop the skills and confidence to become leaders in their own right. By making new friends and connections, they will have a support system to help them along the way. We believe that this week is just the beginning of their journey towards becoming the best version of themselves.
