Programme Highlights
1.Elite Coaching in a Premium School Environment
Students will train under the same trusted tennis coaching team serving Harrow International School Hong Kong. The programme is delivered by experienced coaches who understand how to nurture young players at every stage — from first-time learners developing confidence and coordination, to more advanced students refining technique and preparing for competitive play.
With a strong emphasis on safety, encouragement and individual progress, the coaching environment is both professional and motivating, helping every student feel supported, challenged and inspired.
2.Age-Appropriate Tennis Pathway: Red, Orange, Green Ball
The camp follows a structured junior tennis pathway designed around each student’s stage of development:
- Red Ball | Ages 4–6
Students will be introduced to tennis through fun movement games, racquet control activities, hand-eye coordination challenges and simple rally skills. The focus is on building confidence, balance, basic movement patterns and enjoyment of the game. - Orange Ball | Ages 7–9
Students will develop stronger rally skills, forehand and backhand technique, serving basics, footwork patterns and simple tactical understanding. Training will encourage consistency, court awareness and confidence in point-play situations. - Green Ball | Ages 10–12
Students will refine stroke mechanics, serving technique, spin, placement, movement efficiency and tactical decision-making. More advanced players will work on match patterns, point construction, competitive mindset and performing under pressure.
This progressive structure ensures that each student receives the right level of challenge and support to maximise improvement.
3.Complete Player Development: Technique, Movement and Mindset
The programme goes beyond simply “hitting balls”. Each session is designed to help students understand how to become more complete tennis players.
Students will work on key technical skills such as grip, swing path, contact point, balance, recovery and shot consistency. They will also develop athletic qualities essential for tennis, including agility, reaction speed, coordination, acceleration, deceleration and dynamic balance.
At the same time, coaches will introduce important mental skills such as concentration, patience, confidence, resilience and positive self-talk — helping students learn how to stay focused, respond to mistakes and enjoy the challenge of improvement.
4.Smart Tactical Learning and Match Play
Students will learn how to think like tennis players, not just swing like tennis players. Through guided point-play activities and mini-match scenarios, they will begin to understand where to place the ball, how to create space, when to attack, when to defend, and how to adapt during a rally.
For younger players, this may involve simple ideas such as aiming into open space or recovering to a ready position. For older and more experienced players, sessions may include serve-plus-one patterns, rally tolerance, changing direction, approaching the net and building points with purpose.
This tactical approach helps students connect training drills with real match situations.
5.Video Analysis for Personalised Improvement
Selected sessions will include video-based feedback to help students better understand their technique and movement. By seeing their strokes on screen, students can identify key areas such as preparation, contact point, follow-through, balance and recovery.
This visual learning approach makes coaching feedback clearer, more memorable and more personalised — helping students make faster and more meaningful improvements.
6.Fun Challenges, Team Activities and Friendly Competition
The camp is designed to be engaging, energetic and fun. Students will take part in rally challenges, target games, team missions, cooperative drills, skill stations and mini-tournaments that keep every session exciting.
These activities help students build confidence, communicate with teammates, celebrate progress and experience the joy of healthy competition in a positive and supportive environment.
7.Character Development Through Tennis
Tennis is a powerful platform for personal growth. Throughout the camp, students will be encouraged to demonstrate discipline, respect, resilience, teamwork and sportsmanship.
They will learn how to handle winning and losing with maturity, support others, take responsibility for their effort and stay committed when challenges arise. These values align closely with the spirit of Harrow and help students grow as confident, respectful and well-rounded young people.
