In collaboration with the British Council, this programme is designed to help lower secondary learners (S1-S3) strengthen their English communication skills and prepare for the Cambridge PET exam (CEFR B1). This 5-day event combines targeted exam practice with structured presentation training, supporting learners in developing fluency, clarity, and confidence.

Through engaging themes and interactive tasks, students will improve their vocabulary, grammar in context, and exam strategies while learning how to plan, deliver and reflect on effective presentations. The camp culminates in a mock speaking test and final presentation showcase, making it ideal for learners aiming to boost their academic performance and public speaking skills.

For day camps, the fee includes study materials, providing the necessary resources for each student's daily activities and learning experiences.

Please be aware that transportation to and from the camp, flight tickets, visa fees, and personal travel insurance are not included in the camp fees and should be arranged separately by the participants.

Programme Highlights

  • Expert Instruction: Classes are taught by qualified and experienced teachers with a proven track record in Cambridge exam preparation and public speaking training.
  • Confident communication for exams and beyond: Students practise structured speaking tasks – from PET exam prompts to mini presentations – building fluency, clarity, and confidence in both academic and real-world contexts.
  • Engaging themes and real-life language: Each day introduces a new topic such as home, school, travel, and feelings, making vocabulary and grammar practice relevant, memorable, and useful.
  • Interactive exam skills practice: Learners prepare for the Cambridge PET exam through games, role-play, and collaborative tasks that reinforce reading, writing, listening, and speaking strategies.
  • Presentation skills that stick: From cue cards to visual aids, students learn how to plan, structure, and deliver effective presentations using signposting, body language, and vocal techniques.
  • Final day showcase and mock exams: The camp culminates in a mock PET speaking test and a final presentation showcase, giving students a chance to apply their skills, receive feedback, and celebrate their progress.
  • Certificate of Completion: Students who successfully complete the programme will receive an official Course Completion Certificate issued by the British Council and AISL Outdoor.

Learning Outcomes

  • Clear and confident presentation delivery:Students will learn how to plan and deliver structured presentations using effective openings, signposting language, visual aids, and cue cards, while developing vocal clarity and body language awareness.
  • Cambridge PET exam familiarity and strategy:Learners will practise all sections of the PET exam – Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking – through targeted tasks and mock activities, gaining confidence in test formats and time management.
  • Fluency in real-life topics:Through engaging themes like home, school, travel, and feelings, students will expand their vocabulary and grammar, improving their ability to express ideas in full sentences and respond to questions naturally.
  • Collaborative speaking and feedback skills:Group tasks, peer interviews, and role-play activities will help students practise active listening, give and receive constructive feedback, and build interpersonal communication skills.
  • Performance and public speaking confidence:Students will rehearse and perform short presentations in front of peers, learning to manage nerves, engage an audience, and reflect on their delivery through structured feedback.
