Build a Racing Kart from the Ground Up

Students will experience the excitement of turning an idea into a working vehicle. Starting with a design blueprint, they will gradually assemble a functioning electric racing kart through structured, hands-on workshops. Each stage introduces an essential part of the vehicle, from the chassis as the kart’s supporting structure, to the wheels, steering system, seating position, balance, battery, motor and power system. Through this process, students begin to understand how real vehicles are constructed and how different components must work together safely and efficiently.

Experience the Design–Build–Test–Improve Cycle

Engineering is not just about building — it is about testing, evaluating and improving. Students will put their kart through practical trials, observe how it performs and identify areas for improvement. They may explore challenges such as weak grip, unstable handling, imbalance, insufficient power or unreliable components, then make evidence-based adjustments to improve performance, safety and reliability. This gives students a practical introduction to engineering thinking, helping them understand how professional engineers solve problems through observation, experimentation and refinement.

Discover the Business Behind Formula 1 and Create a Team Brand

Students will discover that Formula 1 and motorsport are not only about speed, but also about business strategy, branding, sponsorship and audience engagement. They will explore how racing teams generate commercial value through sponsors, partnerships, merchandise, media exposure, hospitality, events, licensing and fan communities. Students will consider why brands invest in motorsport, what sponsors expect in return, and how a racing team builds visibility and value both on and off the track. Each team will then create its own racing identity, including a team name, flag, brand personality, positioning and sponsorship story, before presenting a commercial pitch that reflects their team’s strategy.

Step into Real Motorsport Team Roles

Students will experience the programme as members of a professional racing organisation. They will take on roles such as Driver, Race Engineer, Team Principal, Pit Crew, Marketing Manager and Commercial Manager, each with different responsibilities. Through role rotation, students learn how technical decisions, driver feedback, leadership, teamwork, marketing and commercial planning all contribute to team success. This helps students see motorsport as a multidisciplinary industry where engineering, sport, communication and entrepreneurship must work together.

Train Like a Racing Driver and Learn Race Strategy

Through F1-inspired driver development activities, students will practise reaction speed, hand-eye coordination, concentration, decision-making and consistency. They will also learn that strong racing performance depends on much more than driving fast — it requires preparation, discipline, focus, physical fitness, hydration, rest and mental control. Students will explore the basics of race strategy, including qualifying preparation, pit-crew coordination, track awareness, timing, teamwork and balancing speed with reliability under pressure.

Compete in the Constructors’ Grand Prix

The programme culminates in a Grand Prix-style final challenge where students bring together everything they have learned throughout the camp. Teams will put their kart, driver training, race strategy, teamwork and business thinking to the test. Unlike a simple race, the Constructors’ Grand Prix evaluates teams across multiple dimensions, including race performance, engineering quality, kart reliability, driver consistency, teamwork, sportsmanship, commercial strategy and final team pitch. This final event gives students a memorable platform to demonstrate their creativity, resilience, communication skills and entrepreneurial mindset.
