Money Makers (Day Camp)
Money Makers (Day Camp)
Money Makers is an immersive financial literacy and creativity programme that challenges students to move beyond basic money concepts and begin thinking like planners, strategists, and designers. Through hands-on budgeting tasks, game based decision-making, and collaborative design challenges, participants learn how money works in real-world situations—and how thoughtful choices lead to better outcomes.

Programme Highlights
- Strengthening Core Money Skills: Students begin by reviewing essential financial concepts—including earning, saving, and spending—ensuring a strong foundation before moving into more complex applications. Mini workshops introduce income, expenses, and smart decisionmaking through relatable scenarios.
- Budgeting for RealLife Scenarios: Participants practise building simple budgets for different situations, such as planning a school event, purchasing supplies, or managing a small project. They calculate total spending and savings, track outcomes, and adjust plans when conditions change.
- Strategy, Risk & Reward: Through guided activities, students explore how risk, reward, and investing influence financial outcomes. They calculate simple profits, learn how interest can grow savings over time, and discuss how strategic choices can maximise results.
- GameBased Financial DecisionMaking: Students apply financial thinking through gamebased challenges involving limited resources, unexpected costs, and investment opportunities. These tasks help them experience the consequences of decisions in a safe, engaging environment.
- Designing a Financial Board Game: Working in teams, participants brainstorm, design, and prototype a board or card game that incorporates earning, spending, saving, investing, and riskreward mechanics. From lowfidelity concepts to highfidelity prototypes, students refine rules, balance gameplay, and test strategies through peer playtesting.
- Collaboration, Leadership & Innovation: Throughout the programme, students practise teamwork, leadership, and creative problemsolving. Collaborative challenges encourage clear communication, shared responsibility, and iterative improvement.
- Communication & Presentation Skills: Public speaking masterclasses and pitch rehearsals help students develop confidence, persuasive language, and effective body language. Participants prepare short presentations explaining their financial thinking and game design choices.
- Celebrate Learning at the Final Showcase: The programme concludes with a showcase where students present their completed financial games to peers or teachers, reflect on their learning journey, and celebrate growth in confidence, creativity, and financial understanding.
