Programme Highlights
- Confidence-First Language Practice: Students practise speaking in full sentences using clear and simple English frames to build fluency and self-assurance.
- Play-Based Learning: Activities such as outdoor language hunts, team challenges, and role-playing games make language acquisition enjoyable and memorable.
- Themed Daily Adventures: Each day features a unique theme—science, kindness, storytelling, and more—that keeps learning fresh and exciting while introducing new vocabulary and concepts.
- Creative Expression: Through arts, crafts, and mini projects, children explore their creativity while reinforcing vocabulary and sentence-building skills.
- Friday Showcase: The camp culminates in a vibrant performance where students share what they have learned, building pride and confidence in their achievements.
Learning Outcomes
- Practical Everyday English: Children will build a strong foundation in practical English, learning vocabulary and phrases they can immediately use in daily life. Topics include people, places, weather, emotions, and numbers, ensuring they can confidently express needs, feelings, and ideas.
- Confidence in Speaking: Through structured language frames like “I like…,” “I feel…,” and “I went to…,” children will develop the ability to form full sentences and communicate with clarity. This focus on speaking builds self-assurance and encourages active participation in conversations.
- Early Literacy and Writing Skills: Participants will strengthen their ability to read simple texts, recognise phonics patterns, and improve handwriting. These early literacy skills provide a critical foundation for academic success and lifelong learning.
- Confidence to Perform and Present
By practising for the Friday Showcase, children will learn to speak in front of a supportive audience, gaining invaluable public speaking experience. This builds self-confidence and helps them take pride in their achievements. - Social and Emotional Growth: The camp fosters teamwork, collaboration, and respect through small group activities and games. Children will learn to work together, share ideas, and appreciate diversity, creating a sense of community and belonging.
- Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking
Activities like science experiments, role-playing, and outdoor challenges encourage children to think critically, solve problems, and adapt to new situations—all while using English to communicate their thoughts.
About the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is an international standard for describing language ability. It describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners, up to C2 for those who have mastered a language. This makes it easy for anyone involved in language teaching and testing, such as teachers or learners, to see the level of different qualifications. It also means that employers and educational institutions can easily compare our qualifications to other exams in their country.
There are 6 levels:
• Beginner A1–A2
• Intermediate B1–B2
• Advanced C1–C2
A1 English level
Level A1 corresponds to basic users of English who can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases.
A2 English level
Level A2 corresponds to those users who can understand basic expressions and communicate in a simple manner.
B1 English level
Level B1 corresponds to users who can understand and produce text on familiar topics and give opinions and descriptions.
B2 English level
Level B2 corresponds to users who can produce clear, detailed text and interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity.
C1 English level
Level C1 corresponds to users who can express themselves fluently and spontaneously. They can use language flexibly and effectively for all purposes.
C2 English level
Level C2 corresponds to proficient users of English, who can understand and express virtually everything with ease and differentiate finer shades of meaning.
