Programme Highlights

  • Design, Build & Customise Your Own Race Car: From first sketches to final tuning, students experience the full engineering journey. They design and assemble their own aerodynamic mini race car, experimenting with shape, materials, and balance to maximise performance. Each decision impacts speed, stability, and efficiency — just like in professional motorsport.
  • HandsOn Engineering & STEM Workshops: Interactive workshops introduce essential engineering concepts in a fun, accessible way. Students explore aerodynamics, forces and motion, materials science, and propulsion systems, applying theory immediately through experiments, prototypes, and testing sessions, including windtunnelstyle demonstrations.
  • Race Strategy & PitStop Challenges: Racing is as much about strategy as it is about speed. Students learn how teams plan races, manage time, and respond under pressure through timed pitstop simulations, system checks, and tactical decisionmaking challenges. These activities sharpen problemsolving skills and encourage quick, strategic thinking.
  • Grand Prix Race Day – The Ultimate Showdown: The programme reaches full speed on Grand Prix Race Day. Teams take part in qualifying rounds before competing in a final championship race. Students also present their car designs and racing strategies, gaining confidence as they explain how engineering choices and teamwork shaped their performance.
  • Evening TeamBuilding & RacingThemed Fun: Learning continues after hours with simulator races, Formulainspired games, movie nights, quizzes, and team debriefs. These sessions strengthen friendships, reinforce leadership skills, and create a strong sense of team identity — all in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of Formula Future Racers, students will:

  • Understand the science behind speed: Explain how aerodynamics, forces, and motion influence vehicle performance and racing outcomes.
  • Apply engineering concepts in real projects: Design, assemble, test, and refine a functional mini race car using engineering principles and creative problemsolving.
  • Develop strategic and analytical thinking: Execute a timed pitstop and explain how strategy, efficiency, and teamwork impact race performance.
  • Communicate with confidence: Present their team’s design process and racing strategy clearly, using appropriate technical language and visual support.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, leadership, and resilience: Work collaboratively in a constructor team, adapting to challenges, learning from setbacks, and thriving in a competitive yet supportive environment.
