Course Schedule
Programme Highlights
- Explore planetary science by examining the solar system, analysing planetary environments, and understanding Earth’s unique habitability compared to the challenges of sustaining life on Mars. This encourages critical thinking about sustainability and scientific problem-solving.
- Experience astronaut training to investigate how human physiology and psychology adapt to extreme environments, offering insights into biology, physics, and innovation in space exploration.
- Design and build sustainable space cities, integrating principles of engineering, resource management, and economics to address real-world challenges through creative solutions.
- Apply structural engineering concepts to construct and present space station models, combining STEM knowledge with practical design and teamwork.
- Learn the fundamentals of rocket science, aerodynamics, and propulsion systems by designing, building, and launching rockets, providing a hands-on approach to physics and engineering.
- Develop essential 21st-century skills—teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication—through collaborative missions and final presentations, equipping students for future STEM challenges.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the Space Pioneers programme, students will be able to:
- Apply scientific knowledge to demonstrate an understanding of planetary science, astronomy, and fundamental physics principles.
- Develop engineering skills through hands-on practice in design thinking, structural integrity, and model construction.
- Strengthen soft skills by enhancing teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and public speaking through collaborative projects and presentations.
- Gain a global perspective by appreciating Earth’s fragility and exploring the challenges and opportunities of interplanetary exploration.
