Fashion Design Week (Day Camp)
Fashion Design Week (Day Camp)
Fashion Design Week is an immersive four-day creative experience for children aged 9–12 who dream of designing, making, and expressing themselves through fashion. Students step into the role of a real fashion designer—exploring inspiration, sketching ideas, working with fabrics, learning sewing techniques, and transforming original concepts into a finished, wearable garment. Guided by experienced mentors in small, supportive classes, children build confidence, creativity, and practical skills through hands-on, student-centred learning.

Programme Highlights
A Complete 4-Day Fashion Journey
Students are guided through the entire fashion design lifecycle, just like real designers—moving from initial inspiration to a finished, wearable creation. Each day builds purposefully on the last, ensuring both creative freedom and skill development.
- Day 1: Inspiration & Fashion illustration
Students kick off the week with energising creative warm ups before diving into mood board creation, fashion illustration, sketching, and colour theory. They learn how designers translate ideas, emotions, and influences into a cohesive visual concept, laying the foundation for their personal design story. - Day 2: Fashion Design & Draping
With a professional DIY fashion kit introduced, students explore fabrics, trims, and accessories before learning hand sewing and hands-on draping techniques on a tabletop mannequin. Through guided experimentation, they design and construct a mini dress, discovering how fabric choice affects shape, movement, and fit. - Day 3: Sewing & Bring Your Design to Life
This is where designs truly take form. Students are introduced to sewing machines through clear demonstrations covering parts, safety, and threading. They practise stitching on sample swatches before transforming selected sketches from Day 1 into a real garment, learning essential skills such as pinning, cutting, and sewing with confidence while experiencing the satisfaction of seeing their ideas come together. Important: Children are not permitted to operate sewing machines unsupervised. - Day 4: Showcase & Reflection
The final day is all about celebration and confidence. Students add final styling touches, prepare presentation boards showcasing their creative journey, and take part in a mini runway or in-class showcase. The experience concludes with reflection, certificate presentation, and well-earned pride in what they have accomplished.
Professional Take-Home Fashion Kit
Every student receives a ready-to-use, safety-tested Fashion Designer Kit, empowering creativity beyond the classroom. The kit includes fabrics, a mini sewing kit, a professional tabletop mannequin, trims, and accessories. With these tools, students can design, sew, and refine a mini dress for the mannequin and a ready-to-wear piece of their own - turning inspiration into an ongoing creative habit.
Experiential, Student-Centred Learning
Learning is hands-on, exploratory, and deeply engaging. Lessons priorities fostering creativity, teaching lifelong skills, and developing problem-solving and creative risk-taking. Activities are carefully scaffolded to support skill progression—from guided projects to independent garment creation. Students are encouraged to think like designers, not just follow instructions; this approach is an excellent way to explore the world of fashion and learn how to be a mindful designer and consumer.
Small Classes, Mentor-Led Support
With low student-to-teacher ratios 6:1, each child receives personalised feedback, tailored guidance, and thoughtful encouragement. Our mentor approach supports diverse learning styles, helping every student build confidence, master new skills, and reach their creative potential.
Showcase Experience
The programme culminates in a celebratory fashion showcase, giving students the thrill of presenting their work to others. This meaningful performance experience builds confidence, communication skills, and pride—making the creative journey truly unforgettable.
