Snowy Sound Explorers (Half-Day Camp)

1. Become a Winter Sound Explorer

Children will enter a frosty world of snow, ice, animals, and hidden letter clues. Through sound safaris, treasure hunts, snowflake bingo, winter object sorting, and playful listening games, they will learn to recognise and produce key letter sounds in an exciting, age-appropriate way.

This adventure-based approach helps young learners connect sounds with real objects, movement, and stories — making phonics easier to remember and more fun to practise.

2. Learn Phonics Through Play, Movement and Discovery

Young children learn best when they are active. That is why this camp turns phonics into games, challenges, and hands-on exploration.

Children will stomp through “deep snow”, race to build words, dig for hidden letters in sensory snow bins, join sound relay games, and use rhythm, clapping, and movement to hear the sounds inside words.

By learning through the body, voice, and senses, children stay engaged while developing essential early literacy skills.

3. Expert Instruction by British Council Instructors

Classes are led by internationally certified British Council instructors with extensive experience in phonics and early literacy development.

With expert guidance, children are supported through a structured and age-appropriate phonics pathway — from recognising letter sounds and forming letters to blending simple words and developing early spelling confidence.

This ensures that every activity is not only fun and engaging, but also grounded in effective English language teaching practice.

4. Build Early Reading Skills with the British Council

The programme introduces children to a structured phonics pathway, covering key letter sounds, letter formation, oral blending, CVC word building, and early segmenting for spelling.

Guided by experienced British Council instructors, children will practise how to:

• hear and identify individual sounds
• connect sounds to letters
• blend sounds together to read simple words
• segment words into sounds for early spelling
• form letters with growing control and accuracy

The result is a strong foundation for reading and writing — taught in a way that feels natural, supportive, and fun.

5. Bring Winter Stories to Life

Each day includes story time with winter-themed tales such as The Snowman, The Gingerbread Man, and polar animal stories.

But children will not simply sit and listen. They will spot target sounds in stories, echo-read key words, retell story moments, act out characters, and create simple crafts inspired by the books.

This helps children see phonics not as isolated letter practice, but as the key to understanding and enjoying real stories.

6. Designed for Young Learners Aged 4–6

Every part of the camp is designed with young children in mind. Activities rotate every 15–20 minutes to match their attention span, balancing focused phonics practice with movement, music, sensory play, creativity, and group interaction.

The environment is warm, structured, and encouraging — giving children the confidence to try, speak, participate, and celebrate small reading wins each day.
