Across five intensive days, participants develop a strong technical foundation under the guidance of internationally certified coaches, mastering the essential elements of a champion’s journey: precise footwork, structured attacks, disciplined parries and tactical awareness.

The programme culminates in a dedicated session led by Cheung himself. He will share the mindset that carried him to back‑to‑back Olympic gold medals, demonstrate world‑class technique, and engage directly with each participant through personalised feedback and interaction.

It is a rare opportunity to encounter excellence — and to be inspired by it.

Programme Highlights

1. A Historic First: Learning from an Olympic Champion

For the first time, Mr Cheung Ka Long will participate in a youth summer camp as a special guest. Olympic Champion at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, he will lead a dedicated session in which he shares the mindset that carried him to back‑to‑back Olympic gold medals.

Participants will witness live demonstrations of world‑class technique and engage directly with him through personalised interaction and feedback. It is a rare opportunity to gain insight into elite preparation, discipline and composure under Olympic pressure.

2. Presented with the Ying Tung Training Center

Delivered in collaboration with the Ying Tung Training Center, this camp reflects a shared commitment to youth development, sporting excellence and character education. The partnership underscores the programme’s credibility and its mission to inspire the next generation through meaningful athletic engagement.

3. Structured Technical Progression

Across five progressive days, participants establish solid foundations in guard position, grip and precise footwork before advancing into offensive combinations, parries, counter‑attacks and tactical distance management.

Skills are reinforced through guided drills and carefully supervised sparring, allowing students to apply techniques with growing confidence and control. Each session incorporates structured warm‑up and cool‑down routines to ensure safe and effective physical development.

4. Developing the Champion’s Mindset

Fencing demands mental clarity as much as physical precision. The programme integrates visualisation techniques, collaborative challenges and structured performance opportunities designed to cultivate focus, resilience and selfbelief.

Participants leave not only with stronger technical ability, but with greater composure, discipline and confidence — qualities that extend well beyond the piste.

5. Professional Coaching & Safeguarding Standards

Participants are grouped by age and experience level (Beginner / Intermediate) from Day 1 to ensure appropriate progression and confidence in training. Group placement is continuously reviewed, and participants may move between groups during the camp based on observed progress and comfort level.

Assistant coaches provide additional support to beginners, ensuring safe skill acquisition and strong technical foundations. Head coaches guide more advanced fencers in refining technique, tactical awareness and strategic execution.

The camp maintains a maximum 1:10 coachToStudent ratio, with internationally or nationally certified coaches leading each session. All staff are First Aid certified, equipment and venues are inspected prior to training, and comprehensive safeguarding protocols are in place throughout the programme.

6. PostCamp Development & Reporting

Following the camp, families will receive a collective summary report capturing the overall skill development and engagement of participants throughout the programme. This collective progress overview reflects technical growth, tactical understanding and training attitude observed during the camp.

The report will also include:

  • A curated photo journal highlighting selected moments and memorable experiences
  • A dedicated recap of the special engagement with Mr Cheung Ka Long, summarising key insights and inspirational takeaways
  • Professional recommendations for continued development, outlining next steps in each participant’s fencing journey
