Fees include

Fees Include: The fees cover ski/snowboard equipment, poles, helmets, five days of accommodation, and meals. Complimentary airport transfers are provided between Tokyo airport and Appi. These transfers are available at fixed times and from designated airports only. For specific details, please consult our customer service team.

Fees Do Not Include: Participants are expected to bring their own ski clothing. Alternatively, ski attire is available for rent at the ski resort for an additional cost. Please note that flight tickets and travel insurance are not included.

  • Diverse Terrains: With 21 unique courses stretching over 43,100 meters, we cater to all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned pros.

A Kaleidoscope of Winter Wonders: Activities and Highlights

This winter, AISL Outdoor Winter Camp blends the thrill of the slopes with the richness of Japanese cultural traditions, ensuring every student enjoys a week of adventure, learning, and unforgettable memories.

  • Progressive Ski & Snowboard Programme: Ski and snowboard courses are meticulously designed with a progressive, level-based approach, catering to participants ranging from complete beginners to advanced riders. Certified instructors provide personalised, step-by-step guidance tailored to each student’s ability, ensuring steady improvement in a safe and engaging environment.
  • The World’s Only Geothermal Dyeing Experience: In Japan’s Matsukawa National Forest, experience the world’s only “Geothermal Dyeing.” Using natural high-temperature geothermal steam, without any fossil fuels, brilliant textiles are created.Children will, under the guidance of skilled artisans, create their own works by hand, learn about clean energy and environmental protection, and bring home a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
  • Soba Noodle Cooking: Explore the art of Japanese culinary traditions by creating soba noodles from scratch. From kneading and rolling the dough to cutting noodles to precise standards, this immersive workshop introduces the cultural significance of soba as a symbol of good fortune and prosperity.
  • Nature Walks & Snowshoeing Adventures: Venture into the breathtaking volcanic landscapes and snow-covered forests of Hachimantai. Orienteering treasure hunts and snow hikes provide an immersive experience in winter nature while developing essential outdoor skills.
  • Winter Survival Challenge & Igloo Building: Build igloos and snow shelters, engage in sledging challenges, and learn essential winter survival techniques in a snow-covered wonderland. These activities foster teamwork, creativity, and resilience while offering a unique and adventurous experience.
  • Festive Evenings & Celebrations: Evenings are filled with warmth and joy, from baking Christmas shortcakes to enjoying film nights in a cosy setting, and sharing stories around a campfire under the stars. Celebrate the holiday spirit while creating cherished memories.

Learning Outcomes

Our programmes are meticulously designed to foster a comprehensive understanding of winter sports, from basic skills to advanced techniques. Here are the learning outcomes for each level:

Beginner (Level 1)

  • Learn equipment basics, safe falling and recovery.
  • Build balance, posture, and confidence on gentle slopes.
  • Master snowplow (ski) or basic turns/stops (snowboard).
  • Safely use beginner lifts and understand mountain signage.

Novice (Level 2–3)

  • Refine snowplow into parallel turns (ski) or skidded into carved turns (snowboard).
  • Improve rhythm, speed control, and edge use.
  • Explore a variety of green runs and easy blue terrain with confidence.

Intermediate (Level 4–6)

  • Develop dynamic parallel turns, carving, and switch riding.
  • Adapt to steeper slopes, moguls, and powder conditions.
  • Strengthen mountain awareness and risk assessment.
  • Transition from “surviving” runs to skiing/riding with fluency and control.

Advanced/Expert (Level 7–9)

  • Master short-radius turns, carving at speed, and advanced snowboard techniques.
  • Confidently ride black and double-black terrain, including trees and deep powder.
  • Build air awareness for jumps and drops in a safe, progressive way.
  • Achieve full versatility and mastery across the mountain.
